I handle writing and posting stories for This includes managing the social media accounts for WSMV and sending out push alerts on our app. Some of the special events I have covered include the CMA Awards, the CMT Awards and the NHL All-Star Hockey game.


Online Content Creator/Editor at WRDW-TV (June 2011 – September 2013)

Manager of the News 12 website and social media accounts. Duties included: Creating special assignment pages, copy editing, working with reporters/producers to create best Web content possible, finding social content for newscasts, writing breaking news stories and sending out text alerts. Photographer and live blogger at the 2012 and 2013 Masters Tournaments.

University Chic: Managing Editor (October 2011 – October 2013)

In charge of creating the editorial calendar, managing a team of bloggers, copy editing and writing blogs. Started out as a blogger in 2008 and eventually wrote for its Huffington Post blog on various subjects relating to college life. I also wrote subchapters for the first edition of “U Chic: The College Girl’s Guide to Everything.” I contributed an additional essay and edited submissions for the third edition in 2012. In 2013, I wrote two essays and edited/recruited submissions for “Diploma Diaries,” a guide to the post-grad world.

Carolina Reporter: Assistant Managing Editor (January – May 2011)

This publication was a part of my senior journalism practicum at USC. Duties included: producing weekly online edition of newspaper, designing infographics, taking/editing photos, copy editing, writing stories, editing audio/video and keeping website organized and updated.

The Daily Gamecock: Editor-in-Chief (Fall 2010)

Paid to manage staff of 100+ and a budget of $170,000, edit content, plan special editions and manage social media outlets/multimedia content. Previous positions throughout my four years included: News Editor, Assistant News Editor, News Staff Writer, Viewpoints columnist.

WCPO-TV & E.W. Scripps Company: Interactive Media Intern (Summer 2010)

During this internship I was a shared intern between the newsroom of WCPO-TV and the corporate web office of E.W. Scripps. Duties included: creating/developing “Cincinnati Stories” segment, editing video, writing stories for websites, copy editing, posting content into CMS, helping to create an internal Wiki.

The Charleston Post and Courier: Community News Intern (Summer 2009)

Duties included: gathering and writing content for The East Cooper (community section), writing lead stories for Moxie (women’s section), Preview (A&E) and the Local & State section.

University of South Carolina: Web Communications Intern (Spring 2009)

Paid to edit and write content, work with HTML and post content onto the University of South Carolina’s website. Other duties included transcribing videos, analyzing web traffic and writing stories.

SGTV: “Talk of the Town” production team member (Spring 2009)

Helped produce segment for USC’s student TV station, SGTV, by determining topics, writing scripts, shooting/editing video and reporting on-screen.

The Crescent: Contributor (Spring 2009 & 2010)

Wrote two magazine pieces for my sorority’s internationally-distributed magazine.
